Festival-Style Farm Wedding in NSW – A Laidback Celebration with Tractor Rides & Hilltop Views
Not all weddings have to be polished and traditional. Some of the most memorable ones I’ve photographed are the ones that feel totally personal—where the couple’s personality shines through in every detail. This festival-style farm wedding was exactly that. Think: guests dressed like they’re heading to a music festival, a bride arriving on a big tractor, and a hilltop ceremony with golden light spilling over the valley.
As a documentary wedding photographer, this kind of wedding is my absolute jam.
A Wedding That Felt Like a Festival
The vibe for the day was clear from the moment guests arrived—colourful outfits, boots, hats, sunglasses, good energy. Everyone was there to celebrate, relax, and have a good time. The ceremony space was set on a hill, with open skies and incredible views, giving it that freedom and flow kind of feeling. When the bride came up the hill on the back of a tractor, the cheer from the guests was unreal. You could feel the joy ripple through the whole crowd.
There was no stiff schedule or forced formalities—just real moments unfolding, one after another.
Golden Hour on the Hill
After the ceremony, we stole away for some portraits, but in true festival spirit, we kept it relaxed and spontaneous. The sun dipped behind the hills, casting that perfect golden light across the farm. The couple didn’t need much direction—they were just happy to be there, taking it all in. I stepped back, let them be, and captured the realness of that moment. That’s the beauty of documentary-style wedding photography—it’s honest, unscripted, and full of feeling.
Farm Weddings with Personality
Whether you're planning something festival-inspired, rustic, or totally out-of-the-box, farm weddings are the perfect canvas for couples who want to do things their own way. Open space, big skies, no rules—just love, music, and community.
If you're looking for a farm wedding photographer in Northern NSW who’ll capture your day just as it happens, without interrupting the vibe, I’d love to be part of it.
